Since 15 April 2023 a vicious armed conflict broke out in Sudan, which is still ongoing between the militia group RSF and Sudan Armed Forces. As a result, thousands of innocent lives have been lost, millions displaced inside and outside Sudan, with human rights violations by RSF fighters against women, children and elderly people, rape being used as a weapon of war and the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure and civic services, causing immense pain and suffering to the Sudanese people.
